We are a program dedicated to providing quality education preparing students for careers in nutrition and dietetics. 

The goals of the DPD at James Madison University are:

  1. The program will prepare graduates for supervised practice and graduate programs to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in clinical, community, and foodservice areas.
  2. The program will promote a learning environment that prioritizes inclusion, diversity, equity, and access to prepare graduates with high professional values.
  3. The program will produce graduates capable of graduate work and in interpreting and applying research to dietetics practice.
  4. The program will prepare graduates to work collaboratively and interprofessionally.
