Mission, Goals, & Objectives
We are a program dedicated to providing quality education preparing students for supervised practice leading to eligibility for the CDR credentialing examination to become a registered dietitian nutritionist, while inspiring students to become engaged nutrition professionals.
The goals of the DPD at James Madison University are:
- The program will prepare graduates for supervised practice to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in clinical, community, and foodservice areas.
- The program will promote professional values in graduates.
- The program will produce graduates capable of graduate work and in interpreting and applying research to dietetics practice.
- The program will prepare graduates to work collaboratively and interprofessionally.
