Mission, Goals, & Objectives

We are a program dedicated to providing quality education preparing students for supervised practice leading to eligibility for the CDR credentialing examination to become a registered dietitian nutritionist, while inspiring students to become engaged nutrition professionals.

The goals of the DPD at James Madison University are:

The program will prepare graduates for supervised practice to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in clinical, community, and foodservice areas.
The program will promote professional values in graduates.
The program will produce graduates capable of graduate work and in interpreting and applying research to dietetics practice.
The program will prepare graduates to work collaboratively and interprofessionally.
